SIGNED!!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ’›πŸ–€β€οΈ and are thrilled to welcome our newest Presidential Scholars for the fall! Meet tenor, Rodes: I'm Rodes from Atlanta, Georgia, and I'm excited to be joining the Wake Forest Class of 2030 this fall as a Presidential Scholar for Music. While I'm still exploring what I want to study, I'm honored to be part of such a great community. Music has been central to my life throughout high school. I've been involved in chorus, theatre, and musical theatre, studied voice privately, and love playing guitar. Outside of music, I love sports, especially football, and have great memories from playing on Friday nights under the lights. I also enjoy spending time with friends and staying active. I can’t wait to be part of the Wake Forest community this fall. Go Deacs!

SIGNED!!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ’›πŸ–€β€οΈ and are thrilled to welcome our newest Presidential Scholars for the fall! Meet soprano, Lauren: I’m Lauren from Chatham, New Jersey. I’m so excited to be joining the Wake Forest class of 2030! I’m not sure what I want to major in yet, but I’m considering a minor in Music. Music has been a major part of my life ever since I was young. Outside of singing in choir, I lead an a ca****la group called Nothing But Treble, sing at a local church, and compete in various voice competitions. I also study voice privately. Besides singing, I love performing in plays and musicals, listening to music (some current favorites are Conan Gray and Phoebe Bridgers), reading, and hanging out with friends! I can’t wait to join the Wake Forest community this fall. Go Deacs!!!

SIGNED!!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ’›πŸ–€β€οΈ and are thrilled to welcome our newest Presidential Scholars for the fall! Meet baritone, Collin: I’m Collin from Greensboro, North Carolina. I’m excited to be in the Wake Forest class of 2030! I plan to major in psychology and possibly minor in Japanese language and culture. I’ve enjoyed music my whole life but started focusing more on choir throughout high school. I’ve been a part of my high school's Madrigals choir for the past three years and also enjoy singing solos at open mic nights and spring concerts. One of my favorite opportunities I’ve had with choir was going to North Carolina Governor’s School East for choral music. Outside of choir, I enjoy playing guitar, working out, and hanging out with friends. I’m looking forward to continuing my passion for music at Wake Forest next year! Go Deacs!

This week we celebrate our WFU Choirs Seniors! Meet Lauren Veldhuizen, Presidential Scholar and Chamber Choir Alto! Lauren writes, β€œChoir was an essential part of my college experience, one that I will look back on with more love than I thought possible. There is no more valuable experience for a musician than creating music with others, and choir provided a plethora of opportunities to do so. Some of my most cherished college memories, from singing at Lovefeast to sharing a meal in Brazil to dancing in the streets of Spain, are with Chamber Choir. I will miss my family of music makers, but I know the choir will go on to make even more beautiful music! With a degree in Politics and International Affairs and minors in Music and Theatre, I will be moving to DC to work as a journalist in this next chapter of my life!” Congratulations, Lauren! We’ll miss you! πŸŽ©πŸ’›πŸ–€
