Hi, I'm Michelle, a watercolor and mixed media artist living in North Carolina with my husband and two rescue dogs. I have always loved being outdoors and spending time in nature. I love discovering new ways to explore my passion for nature via a paintbrush, gelli plate, and glue stick. Index Card A Day (ICAD) Day 21: Moon (Week 3: Yellow).

Happy Summer Solstice and hope you all enjoy the longest sunlight day of the year. In celebration of this, I attended the Glow Grandfather Mountain firefly festival last night and it was spectacular!! Check out the best video I took in my stories (it doesn’t do it anywhere close to justice but it’s the best I could do with an iPhone camera).

Index Card A Day (ICAD) Day 17: Crossroad (Week 3: Yellow).

Our country was founded as a haven to immigrants, but sadly, many have lost their way in this fearful new world. May we once again embrace our kindness, our openness, and our souls like this famous poem invites. I was lucky enough to visit the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island a few years back, where I bought several vintage postcard designs and am finally finding good use for.

Index Card A Day (ICAD) Day 16: Fig (Week 3: Yellow).

Two of the ICAD prompts so far this year have reminded me of my favorite memories childhood - magnolia and now fig. My Granny “Honey” (my maiden name is Hundley but I couldn’t say it as a child, and I was the first grandchild. So my granny was lovingly named Honey by me and it stuck). Anyway, she was a believer in magic, especially when it came to the nature in her yard and loved introducing us to all the plants in her garden as well as the hours spent enjoying figs from her massive tree and trying not to step on the rotten ones as we ran through the yard barefoot and sticky from face to toe. 😋
