We are heartbroken to share the passing of Winstock Country Music Festival co-founder Tom Ollig, who died June 28, 2026, following a brief illness. Tom Ollig and Dick Langenfeld, along with their wives LuAnn and Judy, created Winstock in 1993 as a fundraiser for Holy Trinity School - Winsted, MN, with the first event taking place in 1994.

In addition to his work with Winstock, Tom served on the Winsted City Council for more than 30 years, as well as being involved with numerous other civic/church and school organizations and roles. Whenever there was a chance to strengthen his community and lift people’s spirits, Tom was there – sleeves rolled up, ready to help, and usually with a joke close at hand.

Tom was known for his calming demeanor, kindness, generosity, and selflessness. Tom had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and special. He could light up a room with his humor and put anyone at ease. In recent years at Winstock, Tom could be found on a golf cart faithfully shuttling volunteers and guests, making eggs for breakfast, and simply being a sounding board for issues of the day. Please join us in remembering Tom and the Ollig family during this time.
