Part of Danโ€™s vision was an ever-changing assortment of Arrays, where pieces are changed out, moved, reordered. When Dan began working on ๐‹๐’๐€, he developed the concept of the Huddle, a protected, safety in numbers grouping of figures. He thought about threats to that Array, and came up with the Predators. Katzenjammer was the first predator to spring to life, made from salvaged HVAC duct that was demolished during the restoration of the Turquoise Room dining room back in 1999 and parking lot lights from La Posada. Katzenjammer did not make it into the first iteration of this exhibit due to the size, plus, Dan had a few things to finish on the piece, including some structural work and getting the lights working. Over the last couple of weeks he has been refining Katzenjammer (seen here inside his home and studio, Snowdrift Art Space), and it may very well find its way into the Array in mid May. If you have not seen the exhibit in it's current state, please do so! It is an intriguing installation. Link in comments to details about LSA.

For process artist and Snowdrift Art Space owner Dan Lutzick, installing a show is as much of an art as the work itself. Follow the highs and lows as he plans, creates,โ€ฆ

We wrapped up our holiday season yesterday with one last Christmas tour of Snowdrift for our friends and neighbors. Rhett, our old cattle dog, particularly enjoys meeting people during the tour (and continually steals the show). Our thanks to all who shared our love of Christmas this season, and our best wishes for a peaceful new year!

Join us one week from today, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 3 pm at the Winslow Visitors Center for the grand opening of OTM's new exhibit, "100 Years of Route 66 in Winslow." The free event will include refreshments and a Route 66 storytelling presentation by Lara Helmling. The exhibit opening is the kick-off event for the Winslow Route 66 Centennial Committeeโ€™s year-long celebration of the historic highwayโ€™s 100th anniversary!

The printing of the exhibit by Northern Arizona Signs was funded by a grant from the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona, and the installation was funded by the City of Winslow and Winslow Chamber of Commerce. "100 Years of Route 66 in Winslow" will be on display at the Winslow Visitors Center throughout 2026 and beyond. (Photo of downtown Second Street in 1955)

If you didnโ€™t catch the Painted Desert Tribune article about Dan Lutzickโ€˜s Snowdrift Arrays exhibit, give it a read. We are so fortunate to have such a talented journalist, editor, and publisher in Shawn White. He could have simply reported the nuts and bolts of the show, but instead he dove deep into what drives Dan to create his work. Outstanding writing! Thank you, Shawn, for all you do. Congratulations to Dan Lutzick for creating a truly exceptional experience in our Winslow Studio Artists Gallery. Because we finished the install of Lutzick Snowdrift Arrays ahead of schedule, we have now opened the gallery to the public. Dan is still making some refinements and will continue to evolve the show throughout the one year exhibition, but the show is officially open! Since opening the museum in 2018, the Winslow Studio Artists gallery has always been white... until now. For the Lutzick Snowdrift Arrays exhibit, Dan wanted to go bold. Take a look at the process and result in our second installment of the exhibit film. Click this link to watch. https://vimeo.com/1133192324?share=copy&fl=sv&fe=ci
