To the beautiful family receiving Surrender,

This painting was created from a place of reflection, release, and trust in God’s ability to do what we cannot do on our own.

While painting, I kept coming back to the word surrender. Not as weakness, but as freedom. The kind of surrender that asks us to lay down our pride, our striving, our fear, and the pressure to hold everything together ourselves.

So many of us try to fix everything on our own - our homes, our marriages, our families, even ourselves. But this piece was born from the reminder that God never asked us to carry those burdens alone. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is place it all in His hands.

The imagery within this painting reflects both softness and resurrection, beauty growing from broken places. The lavender symbolizes peace and healing, while the white lilies represent purity, renewal, and hope. At the center is Jesus: the One who still calls us out of darkness and into freedom.

The scripture that inspired this piece is John 11:43–44:
“Jesus called in a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out!’ The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen…”

What moves me most about this passage is that Lazarus walked out still bound. Jesus brought him back to life first - freedom came after obedience. After surrender.

This painting is a reminder that you do not have to have everything figured out before coming to Him. You do not have to free yourself before answering His call. He already opened the tomb. The invitation now is simply to surrender.

My prayer is that this piece brings peace into your home and serves as a daily reminder that God is present within these walls - in the joy, the healing, the waiting, and the becoming.

With love,
Rylan Peoples

One of the biggest honors of my artistic journey so far. 🤍

Today I hung “Fayetteville” - piece No. 1 of my Native Ground Collection - inside the Washington County Courthouse.

What makes this moment even more special is that the painting itself features the old courthouse, one of Fayetteville’s most meaningful historical landmarks.

This collection was created to honor the places that ground us, shape us, and tell the stories of where we come from, and getting to begin it here feels incredibly meaningful.

So thankful for this opportunity and for everyone who continues to believe in and support my art. 🤍

If you’ve ever worked with me in the past, purchased a piece from me at an event, or ordered from my Etsy, I would be so incredibly grateful if you’d leave a review on my page or my Etsy. 🤍

As a small artist/business owner, reviews truly make such a huge difference. Whether it was a custom piece, a print, or just a positive experience overall, hearing your feedback means more to me than you know and helps support my work more than you could imagine.

Thank you endlessly for supporting my art and following along on this journey with me. 💓

This piece is now hanging in and — and soon, it’ll be hanging in a very exciting location that still doesn’t quite feel real. Stay tuned to see where. 👀

Today I dropped off my first fine art print of “Fayetteville” from my Native Ground collection at Feltner Brothers… and honestly this one feels really full circle for me.

Before I was a stay-at-home mom, before I was sharing my artwork online, before any of this… this was my first job.

I remember walking through those doors at that stage of my life just trying to figure out who I was going to become one day. I never imagined I’d come back with a piece of artwork that included the business itself.

There’s something really emotional about creating art inspired by the places that raised you.

“Fayetteville” was always meant to feel like home to me — the people, the buildings, the memories attached to them. And Feltner Brothers will always be part of that story.

I’m just really grateful.
Grateful for where I started.
Grateful for the people who supported me before I even knew I’d become an artist.
And grateful that art has a way of bringing everything back around 🤍

Go check it out and eat some yummy food while you’re there :) 🍔👩🏽‍🎨

Be intentional with what you surround yourself with. Be thoughtful about who you support. And don’t take lightly the things you choose to place in your home, because they do matter more than we often realize. 🤍

This piece means more to me than I can even put into words. 💓

My original Fayetteville painting — the very first piece in my Native Ground Collection — is officially listed on my Etsy along with fine art prints.

This painting is a reflection of the place that raised me, shaped me, and became part of who I am. Every building, texture, and color was painted with so much nostalgia for home, memory, and the feeling of belonging somewhere.

To see something that lived in my heart finally out in the world is such a surreal feeling. Thank you for supporting my art, my stories, and the dream behind all of this.

Original + prints are now available on Etsy 🫶🏼
