β€œWe’re living in a time where there are challenging and complicated questions, misconceptions and sociopolitical concerns regarding the SWANA region and people. As an SWANA/Arab American artist I’m grateful for the opportunity to add to the conversations by sharing aspects of my heritage. As a curator I am thrilled to have the opportunity to invite artists of the diverse and rich SWANA diaspora to our community, and offer a rich range of perspectives and expressions. β€œ ~ Sharon Mansur

Mpls, MN - Join the MN Anti War Committee and American Muslims For Palestine on Sunday, May 17th at 2pm at Chute Square, 28 University Ave SE, MPLS to commemorate the 78th anniversary of Al-Nahkba.

Al-Nahkba, meaning "The Catastrophe", is a solemn day of remembrance for Palestine. It's the day of the year where we remember the 15,000+ Palestinians who were murdered by the Israeli occupation in 1948, the year of the establishment of the Zionist state of Israel. Not only were 15,000 people killed during the Nahkba, almost exclusively women, children and civilians, but over 750,000 Palestinians were ethically cleansed from their homes and homeland, creating the largest ethnic diaspora in existence to this day.

After 2 and a half years of the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza and the continued annexation of Palestinian land in the West Bank, we know that the Nahkba was not a singular event but the ongoing project of ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Palestine for the past 78 years, the Nahkba was only the beginning but it never ended. Join us as we say "Enough is Enough! End the siege on Gaza, end the genocide, stop the annexation of land in the West Bank, end the Nahkba once and for all and let Palestine live".

Come stand with the Palestine solidarity community as we commemorate the lives, land and homes stolen by the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

End US aid to Israel

End the blockade of Gaza

Film Synopsis: Mona and Manar are two Palestinian girls growing up in refugee camps in Beirut and Bethlehem. Despite the overwhelming barriers that separate them, the girls form a close friendship through letters and a dramatic meeting at the Lebanese border. Shot during the liberation of southern Lebanon from Israeli occupation and at the beginning of the Palestinian intifada, frontiers of dreams and fears articulates the feelings, hopes, and growing activism of a generation of young Palestinians living in exile.

Our esteemed keynote speaker Mouin Rabbani will examine salient themes in Israeli policy towards the Palestinian people, from the origins of the Zionist movement until the Gaza Genocide, and examine how this helps explain current regional developments.

TPFF’s annual Nakba event is not just a commemorationβ€”it’s a call to action against injustice and erasure, and a celebration of Palestinian resilience and resistance.
