Friends, there are too many empty chairs in my house. I look forward with love brimming out of my heart to the day we are together again. For now, please spend a moment allowing yourself to feel what it is like to live in this moment with our dear friend Humbird. Music, art and human connection are essential. This too shall pass, and when it does, I'm going to hug the crap out of every single one of you.

Folks, we will be postponing the season closer in lieu of our health and safety. Please stay safe, stay tuned for a new date and see Sam's letter below:
Dear Sarah,

We are all following headlines regarding the coronavirus. These are my feelings:

We should postpone our upcoming performance on Saturday, March 28th, 2020... here’s why...

I have recently traveled to Orlando Florida. I was there with my family. I played for a conference which had attendance of over 300 people. I stayed in a convention center. I attended a theme park with my kids. I have currently traveled by air two times

I may not have been infected, But I have been in high risk scenarios for human contact.

Considering many of the attendees of my performances are people 50 years and older I personally feel it would be irresponsible exposing my self to this demographic. I also feel we would be doing a responsible public service by making a decisive decision to urge people to stay home, and practice the recommended social distancing.

I don’t think we can stop this virus, but we can make personal decisions to do what we can to slow it’s spread especially to the most vulnerable demographics affected by it. By slowing it through social distancing we can hopefully keep the numbers low enough that health care workers have the best success of treating the ill.

I know we all hope to have the show go on, but I think these are remarkable circumstances of unprecedented proportion. My analogy is , what if you think you are having a stroke. You make the decision to go to the emergency room. Best case scenario the say you are not having a stroke. Next best scenario, you are , but it’s caught quickly increasing your chances of minimal damage and possibly saving your life. The other scenario is you think you are having a stroke, you decide not to go in. You are, and you loose your life, or are deeply compromised. The safe decision is to go in. I feel the safest course of action is to simply reschedule, after the dust settles, whenever that may be. Nearly everyone in the U.S. doing so and I believe it to be our best and safest option to protect the public at this time. I personally don’t want to feel as though I’m responsible for infecting others.

These are my feelings at this time. We will touch base as time moves forward to reschedule performances

Best wishes, Sam
