🌡️ Heat stress can develop faster than many horse owners realize

Recognizing the early warning signs can make all the difference. From elevated heart rate and rapid breathing to dehydration and lethargy, knowing what to look for helps you take action before heat stress progresses to a life-threatening emergency. Heat stress occurs when a horse can no longer effectively dissipate body heat, making early intervention critical.

💧 If you suspect your horse is experiencing heat stress, stop exercise immediately, move them to a shaded or well-ventilated area, begin hosing with cool water, and contact your veterinarian. Prompt treatment can significantly improve your horse's outcome.
