The Fox Theatre’s auditorium ceiling was originally painted a deep shade called “cobra green.”

When the house lights dimmed, the old lighting was said to glisten like stars overhead, turning the theater ceiling into part of the show before the movie even began.

Imagine sitting there in 1950, the room going quiet, the lights fading, and that dark green ceiling sparkling above a full house.

The Fox wasn’t just a place to watch a movie. It was built to make the whole night feel special.

A little piece of Winfield history, still shining through the story of the Marquee. ✨

Tomorrow night at the Marquee, one of the featured collections will be a beautiful display of vintage Fostoria Coin Glass. 🪙✨

Known for its distinctive coin-style medallions, rich colors, and unmistakable mid-century American design, Fostoria’s Coin pattern has become a favorite among vintage glass collectors.

The collection on display will feature amber Coin Glass, along with the history behind the pattern, the different colors it was produced in, what makes certain pieces more desirable, and some of the details collectors look for when identifying original Fostoria pieces.

And this is just one of the collections waiting to be discovered tomorrow night.
