Currently, I'm in one of my favorite settings. One of the oldest continuously operating taverns in the United States, The White Horse Tavern in Newport, RI. Yes that's a Jack in my hand and it's mighty good. Your turn to order. Don't worry, it's all on me. Lovely setting for some deep thought at this moment. People ask me, "what the hell are you doing? You've got a booming dental practice. You wan
t to sing? The American Songbook, Jazz? Well, to all you folks out there who think I may have a screw loose, first let me assure you I have no intention of abandoning my dental practice. I love my work. The dentistry allows me to express a deep seated creative artistry that I can use to better the health of individuals that I truly care for. I consider my patients part of my extended family. I look forward, every day, to going to work. I enjoy the spontaneous human interaction that takes place. It is why I now have the passion to sing The Great American Songbook today. I want the audience to experience the emotions that I feel when I connect with this music; to transcend to the soul that yearns for love and cries for heartbreak. It's what goes down every time we appear. We take these timeless songs, inject them with fresh, original jazz arrangements and create performances that truly dazzle and delight; regularly bringing audiences racing to their feet. Singing is my dream and jazz is what I dig. It's my passion. In life, no one should ever fear their dreams. They should pursue them with gusto, so in essence, they never regret what they might have done or who they might have been. When one has fulfilled what's in their heart, they have truly lived. Yes, it is my love to be a dentist but it is my passion to sing....
