Goals and Objectives:

To prepare and teach our youth for the highest type of conduct and sportsmanship in rodeo for future levels of competition, such as junior high school, high school, college rodeo, etc.,

To be good role models. To promote drug and alcohol awareness and prevention. To ensure fairness in the sport of rodeo, to abide by the rules and expectations set by IJRA

To encourage and promote sportsmanship among contestants, officials, and parents. To provide healthy and trustworthy environment. To keep our culture and western heritage alive. To promote responsibility to their animals and themselves. To promote courtesy, consideration and respect to parents, people who surround them, people who support them and people they represent. To promote the humane treatment of animals. To work for the betterment of conditions in and around the rodeo arena for the safety of contestants, officials, rodeo livestock, and spectators. To increase awareness and maintain the best interest of the IJRA. To promote the growth of the Association and its members. To ensure competent, honest judges, timers, and officials. To work for the centralization and coordination of all Association activities for the convenience of its members. To maintain accountability of the Association records.

General information

Membership is open to any American Indian youth with at least one fourth (1/4) degree blood quantum in any federally recognized tribe in the United States. Members must not become 19 years of age by July 1st.
