You don’t have to be the best at something to enjoy it. Your art doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s, and mistakes are just another part of learning.

Creativity is about exploring, experimenting, and discovering what makes your imagination unique.

At Heart Studio, we believe every child deserves a space where they feel confident enough to try new things, make a mess, and express themselves freely.

Next Week’s Project: Haunted Houses with Charcoal! 👻

This week our artists created their own spooky cat scenes using a mix of acrylic paint, cut paper, sponges, and lots of imagination!

We experimented with different materials and techniques, from sponge painting to layering paper shapes, to bring our creations to life.

We love how the same project can turn into so many different works of art. Every artist brings their own ideas and personality to the table! 🧡

Art doesn’t always have to be about making something “good.” Sometimes, it’s simply a way to slow down, check in with yourself + quiet a busy mind.

These simple mindfulness art exercises use color, movement, breath + creative expression to encourage self-awareness and give your brain a place to focus.

Try one the next time you’re feeling overwhelmed, restless or just need a few quiet minutes.

Want to explore more? Our Art Expression classes are private 1:1 sessions for all ages, taught by Kim or Megan using expressive, mindfulness-based + therapeutic art practices. Megan & Kim both hold a Graduate Certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy from Maine College of Art & Design.

No art experience needed. This is a space to create, explore + express yourself!
