Vostrikov's Academy of Ballet, in historic downtown Winchester, Virginia, has been providing quality dance training in a nurturing environment since 1982. The performing arts facility houses three fully-equipped studios and a large theater studio for performances, which provide an aesthetic environment for creating and sharing the art of dance. All levels of instruction are offered in ballet, jazz

, tap, and pointe. Lyrical and modern dance classes are available to intermediate and advanced dancers. Classes are taught by highly qualified, experienced faculty who provide instruction and motivation for students to reach their potential while maintaining sensitivity to individual abilities and needs. From the moment young dancers enter our studios to performing for a live audience, they experience the rewards and challenges of a timeless tradition. They gain confidence and satisfaction by being involved in creative activities appropriate to their developmental levels. The physical conditioning and mental discipline instilled through our program enriches students’ lives and remains with them as adults. Vostrikov have graced thousands of dancers with exceptional training but have also enriched their lives far beyond the stage. Many alumni have continued with successful careers in dance and related arts, while many others excel in careers outside of the arts. The benefits acquired through their participation with VAB and VYB–including confidence, self-assurance, determination, perseverance, and comradery—are important factors of success in any profession. VAB-VYB alumni excel in such areas as law, medicine, engineering, research science, health sciences, architecture, education, business, and marketing.

Keep dancing this summer!

Our Weekly Summer Classes are the perfect opportunity for dancers to continue building strength, technique, confidence, and artistry between seasons.

We are excited to welcome special guest instructors Jessica Schmitt and Alexa Glomp from Virginia National Ballet! Ms. Schmitt will join us for select ballet classes, while Ms. Glomp will bring her expertise to Jazz, Lyrical, and Contemporary classes.

Dancers ages 8+ can continue their training through:
Junior Ballet
Junior Jazz/Lyrical
Intermediate/Advanced Ballet
Intermediate/Advanced Jazz/Lyrical/Contemporary

Classes run Tuesdays & Thursdays, June 23–July 23, with options for dancers at different levels and experience.

Plus, private and semi-private lessons are available for dancers looking for individualized instruction tailored to their goals.

Whether your dancer is maintaining technique, preparing for the next season, or simply continuing their love of dance, we would love to have them join us this summer.

Our first Student Summer Intensive spotlight is here!

We are so proud of Arwen Yount for continuing her dance journey this summer at the Joffrey Pre-Professional Jazz & Contemporary Intensive in New York City (June 8–12). Arwen Yount

From exploring new styles to learning from inspiring teachers and connecting with dancers from around the world, Arwen embraced every moment of this incredible experience.

Once upon a time…a dancer was born. 📚🩰

This summer our Story Ballet Adventure program invites young dancers ages 3.5-6 to step into the pages of beloved children’s stories through dance, imagination, crafts, and creative movement.

Each day includes ballet class, choreography, themed activities, and plenty of fun. At the end of the week, dancers will perform on stage for family and friends!

No previous dance experience required.

Session 1: June 22–26
Session 2: July 20–24
