Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre produces Broadway musicals each summer in the beautiful, 610-seat Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre on the campus of Shenandoah University in Wi******er, VA. In general, eleven performances are given of each musical over a two-week period drawing audiences from a 150-mile radius with groups traveling in from as far away as Ohio and North Carolina.

And with that, another season has come and gone!

We've met gamblers, dancers, missionaries, shopkeepers, star-crossed lovers, song writers, singers, musicians, and more along the way, and their stories will live with us for much longer than the few hours we sat in a darkened theatre together.

Thank you to each one of you who bought tickets, came to a backstage event, wore a t-shirt out in town and started a conversation with a fellow theatre lover, ate a cookie (yes, you support the arts with consumption of chocolate chips!), and made a donation this season. We strive to bring you the very best quality musical theatre every summer, and it's because of you that we can continue to dream big dreams for NEXT summer.

If you enjoyed this season, please consider making a donation (every bit helps!) as we near our fundraising deadline of August 31. Successful fundraising this summer means we can be back next season with some exciting news very soon, so thank you for supporting live theatre in your community! 📸

I spy with my little eye... 2 seats for BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL that opened up for Saturday night! If you're still hoping for tickets, check ssmtva.org often!

You can also come "standby" with us starting 2 hours before the performance begins. Just check in at the box office for a standby number, and we will call your number in the lobby should anything become available. We usually end up with a few seats that go unused because someone couldn't come with their group or seats are donated back last minute, so come grab a drink at concessions and hang out with us, we'll do our best to find you a seat! Everyone deserves to feel the earth move!

Wow, so exciting! BUT if you don’t have tickets and do want to come see BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL this week, we have some insider tips for ya…

1) always check the website day before and day of. Sometimes last minute seats open up, so if you see it, snag it!

2) if you’re in the area and really want to see the show, come “stand by” with us! Again, last minute seats open up and people often donate unused tickets, so come and check in at the box office beginning 2 hours before curtain time. We can give you a number to wait with while you go grab a drink from the concessions stand!

3) beg your friends and family who have tickets to stay home so you can go instead. (Ok we don’t actually recommend this one, we’re not here to start fights…)
