Your ACT Theatrical Co. "Tonight, Let it be Your ACT" Nothing will ever happen if you don’t. (The power of asking)

MISSION
Your ACT Theatrical exists to create extraordinary theatrical experiences, and to create new and original opportunities, educate, and collaborate with young artists who have a passion for the arts, while making theatrical opportunities available to any student, family or patron.

VISION
Your ACT Theatrical seeks to provide a community where young artists can be immersed with other passio

nate artists, and have the ability to create, produce, and explore the collaboration of a theatre without being limited. We strive to use our resources to provide a home to collaborate and create exciting works of theatre with young artists.

VALUES

• Theatre should be accessible to anyone regardless of age, race, education or financial background.

• Theater should be a collaboration with other artists and their imagination.

• Theatre must encourage the power of creative and critical thinking.

• Young artists must be provided with the tools to realize their artistic vision.

• Best work is only achieved by great collaboration.

• We only limit ourselves by seeing what we can’t do. We embrace finding ways to make everything happen if we are creative.

• We dare to try new ideas no one has before.

• Ask questions!

Dear theatre friends,

Alex here, Although we may not be around, we are asking you to please consider donating to the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum. Your ACT got it’s Wi******er start, here. They are a brilliant organization dedicated to giving back to the community.

Covid has really impacted them but they are one organization that should remain around because of the work they provide for youth in the community.

2020 has been financially devastating without field trips, admission income, STEAM nights at schools, and our normal summer camps. Our commitment to this community hasn't wavered but we need funding to continue serving you as we have for 24 years. Can you help? THANK YOU

Hi all,

Alex here. I wanted to take a second to update you all on Your ACT.

Recently, I have been struggling to find a way to continue to keep Your ACT operational while I am not there. This I found to be incredibly difficult to do and still keep the quality that I want for each of the students. I had to be realistic about what we were offering and if it is something that would be beneficial to the students. So, after many long conversations and sleepless nights, I have decided that it is time to close Your ACT.

Being a firm believer in Quality over Quantity I feel it is right time. We have had an incredible 4 year run. When I started Your ACT, I never imagined it would grow as it had and I would meet and have the theatre family that we have today.

Your ACT in my eyes was a complete success. It was designed for anyone who was there (students or staff) to have a place where they could learn how to do anything in the theatre industry all while being surrounded by and incredible group of people. I know I learned so many incredible things and got to watch all of you take that journey and grow with me.

So what does this mean for the future of YourAct? Unfortunately I have decided to cancel Frozen and instead will be down in October for a final get together/ intensive (Keep Oct 11-12 open). I am hoping to be able to do an intensive/workshop a few times each year.

I know this news may be incredibly upsetting to some of you, so I encourage you to reach out. (And hopefully see you in October)

This is not goodbye, just hello to a new and exciting chapter. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. (I will gladly answer anything 🙂)
