I was lucky enough to be able to sit next to this oasis for a few hours yesterday. Not very happy with the piece I did on site, I tried again this morning working from a photo while the place was still fresh in my mind. 5”x7” gouache on watercolor paper

Yesterday’s outdoor adventure was a beautiful place on the Blanco River near Fischer. Too many old barns with shade nearby kept me from painting the river.

I’ve had the best time the last few months painting on location with the Wimberley Plein Air group. I’ve spent a lifetime painting in isolation staring at a computer monitor. Painting outside with friends is so refreshing!
