POW! Scenes From My Love Life which closes today has been a dream for me. Each cast member has been beyond lovely to work with both onstage and off. Just an incredibly perfect group of people. The backstage crew have been equally wonderful. Just a perfect experience. The play was received better than I hoped. Sold-out every night. It was an incredible reminder of how it should always be and how I want to spend the rest of my professional life. I just want to spend my time working on projects with people I adore and respect and have those projects be well received by our incredible audiences. That’s literally all I want. The last 6 weeks have been pure joy and I’m just so grateful. It was exactly what I needed at this moment in my life. It’s very possible that today will be the last time I ever see the play performed again so I’m really looking forward to seeing it one last time today. This play, my first play, changed my life when it premiered August 4th 1994 in San Francisco. Had it flopped I might not have kept writing. So today I’m feeling very grateful and very sentimental and also very excited about the future and our next next two shows, PrEP’d and An Evening with Divine, two plays running in rep thru November. Thank you again South Florida for supporting live theater, gay theater, theater about s*x and all the work we are doing at Plays Of Wilton. I’m very proud of our output in the last 6 months with The Actors Off-Broadway, Family Tree, Daniel’s Husband, A Shonda The Musical and now Scenes From My Love Life. We would not be doing any of this work without your support so thank you, thank you, thank you!
