Our goal at Concert School of Music is to provide high quality music instruction in a supportive environment.

We strive to challenge each student to their fullest, while providing motivation to help them achieve their goals.

We're continuing our senior spotlights with our next student: Bennet! 🎓

Bennet is graduating this year from Creekside Community High School in Tigard, Oregon. He'll be attending Clackamas Community College before transferring to a university, and he'll be studying computer programming, languages, and Asian culture.
He has been taking piano lessons with teacher Spencer at Concert School of Music for over 3 years!

We're continuing our senior spotlights with our next student: Andrew! 🎓

Andrew selected Oregon State University, where he will pursue degrees in Environmental Engineering and Sustainability Science, with a minor in Music Performance.

He joined Concert School at 6 years old, and started taking lessons with Darrell when he was 7 years old. He played in advanced West Linn and Wilsonville School District primary strings, Concert School chamber strings, XLR, Wood Middle School advanced orchestra, Wilsonville High School mariachi band, ART Musica strings trio and quartet (co-founded), Wilsonville High School chamber, symphony and pit orchestras, Portland Metropolitan Youth Symphony (MYS), and Pacific Rose Ensemble. He toured Spain and Portugal with MYS. He enjoyed playing symphonic works by Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms and Tchaikovsky as well as premiering local student composers through the Fear No Music Project. He proudly performed with Jimmie Herrod, Hunter Noack and Esperanza Spalding.

Darrell Hunt and Concert School have been with him every step of his journey. Andrew is happy to report that he is no longer setting his strings on fire or sword fighting with his bow.

We're continuing our senior spotlights with our next student: Alexandra! 🎓

Alexandra began her viola lessons at the Concert School of Music at the age of five. Over the years, her passion for music has flourished as she continued her studies at CSM, performing both at school and with the Portland Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.

This fall, she will carry her love of music forward as she embarks on a dual-degree program in music and science at Oberlin Conservatory and College.

We're continuing our senior spotlights with our next student: Will! 🎓

William will graduate from Wilsonville High School with high honors and will attend University of Victoria to pursue computer engineering.

William has been studying drums with Kylle Strunk for the past three and a half years. During his time at the school, he has grown tremendously as a musician while balancing an exceptionally rigorous academic schedule. In addition to drums, William has been playing piano since he was five years old. He can also whistle pretty well!

Fun facts about William: he has insanely flexible joints, is a total video game wizard, and his favorite food is raw broccoli. He also took fifteen AP classes during high school. Above all, William is known for being kind, funny, and thoughtful, qualities that have made him a joy to know.

We're continuing our senior spotlights with our next student: Shalin! 🎓

Shalin is a Senior at Wilsonville High School and will be attending Willamette University in the Fall, potentially majoring in data science.

He began playing piano when he was five years old. He started taking lessons with Jonathan at Concert School of Music almost two years ago to help him take his playing to the next level, and he definitely has! Shalin says that his lessons with Jonathan are the highlight of his week. In addition to playing music together, they also enjoy talking about baseball and their love of the Dodgers.

We're continuing our senior spotlights with our next student: Felicia! 🎓

Felicia will be attending University of Portland this fall and majoring in nursing and music.

She has been a violin student at Concert School of Music for 7 years. She participated in small ensembles and concerts during that time. She has enjoyed all of her instructors and has learned so much from each of them. The skills she learned helped her earn a scholarship and the opportunity to play in the orchestra at college!

We're continuing our senior spotlights with our next student: Caden! 🎓

Caden is graduating from West Linn Highschool. He is attending Oregon State University Honors college in the fall, majoring in Computer Science.

Caden’s musical journey started with guitar lessons with Blake fall of his freshman year in 2022. Soon after he also started vocal lessons. Blake helped him prepare for AP music theory his Junior year. Since then, Caden has been enjoying writing music.

Fun facts: Caden varsity lettered on the highschool Trap team, Surpassed his mom downhill skiing last year, and Drives a truck older than he is!

We're continuing our senior spotlights with our next student: Samuel! 🎓

Shortly after graduating from Valley Catholic High School Samuel is serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sant Fe, Argentina. After his mission he will be attending BYU Provo.

Samuel loves music and plays both the piano and cello. His journey with the Concert school of Music began with the elementary West Linn Wilsonville strings program in third grade until fifth grade.
During covid he did not play the cello for a couple of years, but he returned to playing the cello in the Orchestra at Valley Catholic High School! He has enjoyed his teachers Darrell and Anjel at the Concert school of Music.

We're continuing our senior spotlights with our next student: Soniyah! 🎓

After graduation, Soniyah will be taking a gap year, using that time to travel before she starts school majoring in Psychology.
Soniyah began her musical journey last year, learning piano with Jayden. She has come a long way and feels more confident each lesson. She absolutely loves learning new music to play and share with her family and friends.

From her parents:
We are so proud of Soniyah and all her accomplishments, not just her amazing musical skills, her artistic talent, writing, and social skills are just some of her many talents. Congratulations Soniyah on graduating high-school early and still maintaining a job. We look forward to seeing you make your dreams come true and will continue to always be by your side in all that you do! We love you so much!

We're continuing our senior spotlights with our next student: Xander! 🎓

Xander will be Attending University of Utah in the Fall to study kinesiology.

He's been playing the drums here at CSM for over 4 years, and plans on continuing recreationally in college. In July, Xander will be joining the Oregon Ambassadors of Music for their 2026 Europe tour, where he will perform in over 3 different countries!
