Thank you Downtown Wilson NC for highlighting The Edge Wilson and our art. What a great job Rashaad did in editing the footage to make my words somewhat cogent. Public or “off the cuff” speaking are not career paths I will ever consider taking 🫣
First 10 people who count the number of times I say “making art” get a free mini from the gallery! 🤣 I’m serious.

After a little hiatus from hosting shows due to a busy travel schedule, and two personal shows, one in Hillsborough and another in Cape Town, I invite you to join us at The Edge for a special art exhibition featuring the work of Karen Rose and Maureen O’Neill.
Their work sits beautifully together—thoughtful, immersive, and full of color, gesture, and atmosphere.

So all the mad time in my studio, back at The Edge in Wilson, NC culminates. With tons of planning and 7,500 miles traveled, here it is…. My first art show in Cape Town: simply named “BUDAS”….

An exhibition in Kalk Bay, Cape Town featuring Budas, imagery I’ve been exploring creatively for several years.
The show features my Buda-like figures that I render repeatedly through process and repetition, using various materials and mediums.
It all began in North Carolina during a building renovation, when painting Budas on my temporary gallery façade became a spontaneous decision—one that helped solve the aesthetic challenges of an under-construction space.
That practical, creative solution gradually evolved into a language of its own. Today, I find myself creating large acrylic paintings and smaller hand-made prints for this exhibit in Kalk Bay, Cape Town—my favorite place in the world—bringing the work full circle , back to my soul-homeland, South Africa.
