Depths Tarot

The Somatics were inspired by, and created for, the 22 cards of the Major Arcana - from 0 Fool
to 21 World. A magical tool to utilize to understand and internalize the Tarot, The Somatics can be performed singularly or in sequence. Pull a card, make a shape. Pull a spread, make a dance.

Choreographed and performed by Dores André, a Spanish prima ballerina who is principal dancer for the SF Ballet, these movements
are created to be easily learned and accessible by a diaspora of bodies. Many can be performed
in a chair or modulated to each person’s unique physical abilities. The Somatics are meant to be invoked in solo divination under the moon, bedroom dancing on a weeknight, or mass movement at the club .

In a world where everything is suffocated in single-use plastic clingwrap, we wanted you to have a sensual, tactile experience with Depths divination that started with the immediacy of touch. Connection starts with exactly that - laying your hands on it.
We printed everything entirely in the US with small, family-based companies using rapidly renewing materials. The box is a straw-based paper. The “little white book” insert is on h**p. The deck wrap is recycled cardboard byproduct. The cards were sent to us in divided collations, rather than plastic packets, so we handbuild literally every deck that makes it into your magic hands. You better believe that this moving meditation is done with some words spoken and intentions infused with each closed box, a very good playlist on in the background.
