And next up for our Summer Modern Series is Dunham with the incredible Dr. Sheila Ward🌟

Dr. Sheila A. Ward is Co-Director of and performs professionally with Eleone Dance Theatre of Philadelphia, PA and certified instructors for both the Umfundalai African Dance Technique and the Katherine Dunham Dance Technique.

She is presently a tenured Professor in the Department of Health, Physical Education and Exercise Science at Norfolk State University.

SUMMER MODERN SERIES IS BACK!!! And so is the fabulous Lloyd Knight‼️

Kicking off our 2026 Summer Modern Series is Principal Dancer for the Martha Graham Dance Company, Lloyd Knight.

Mr. Knight has a BFA from the New World School and joined the Martha Graham Dance Company in 2005 and was promoted to Principal in 2014.

Dance Magazine named Mr. Knight as one of the “Top 25 Dancers to Watch” in 2010 and one of the best performers of 2015. He has starred with ballet greats Wendy Whelan and Misty Copeland in signature Graham duets and has had roles created for him by such renowned artists as Nacho Duato and Pam Tanowitz.

He is currently a principal guest artist for The Royal Ballet of Flanders directed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.

Born in England and raised in Miami, he trained at Miami Conservatory of Ballet and New World School of the Arts.
