The Murphy is also an economic boost to the community by bringing in audiences from miles around to shop, eat, and enjoy downtown Wilmington before and after shows. The Board of Trustees of the Murphy Theatre has made the decision to part ways with our Executive Director, Steve Burnette. After five memorable years together, during which membership grew remarkably and our programming flourished, we thank Steve for his service and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. We look forward to continuing to serve our community and building on The Murphy’s success.

Thank you to our staff, patrons, and supporters for being the best part of the Murphy. Stay tuned for updates.

The beautiful The Murphy Theatre, Wilmington, Ohio. Built in 1918, this theatre is still vibrant, hosting concerts, showing movies and holding corporate events. I recently photographed icon Don McLean there. Country great LeAnn Rimes performs there November 7th. Capacity is 682 so there isn't a bad seat in the house.
