Music truly brought us together on the 16th of June as piano, cello, and vocal performances filled the Wilmington Campus foyer during our Annual Meeting. More than 50 special guests gathered around the piano (our newest addition to the foyer) to celebrate another remarkable year at The Music School of Delaware.

Board Chair Chris Stout and President & CEO David Pacific reflected on the accomplishments made possible by our community's support, and shared an inspiring vision for the year ahead. Together, we celebrated the impact of music and the bright future that lies ahead for our students, faculty, and community.

The Music School of Delaware is headed to the Big Apple! 🎶🗽

On June 21, our Youth Symphony Orchestra will join forces with the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras to form the Delaware and Maryland Youth Touring Orchestra for an unforgettable journey to New York City—including a performance at the iconic Carnegie Hall!

After days of inspiring rehearsals, sightseeing, and musical growth, the tour will culminate in the New York Symphonic Invitational on June 23 at 7:30 PM in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall.

On Friday June 12th Suzuki Academy students who participated in the Spring 2026 Practice Power up were invited to attend a special gathering at Woodside Creamery in Hockessin. Between enjoying delicious ice cream, tossing frisbees, and doing cartwheels, the students also spontaneously started their own singing game of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star while they passed around a frisbee. All students received special practice "pins" for their accomplishment of completing the 100-day practice challenge.

On June 7, alumni of The Music School of Delaware’s Delaware Youth Symphony Orchestra (DYSO) joined Maestro Simeone Tartaglione, Music Director of both DYSO and the Newark Symphony Orchestra, for a performance with the Newark Symphony Orchestra and the 287th Delaware National Guard Army Band under the leadership of Chief Daniel Wood. These musicians, now members of the National Guard Band, were proud to perform alongside the Newark Symphony Orchestra, representing the continued musical journey of DYSO students beyond The Music School.

The Music School is proud to provide a pathway from the Delaware Youth Symphony Orchestra to the 287th Delaware National Guard Army Band, where our students continue to share their musicianship and serve the community through music.
