This time tomorrow night - City Theater Company and the Tax Free Comedy Festival sponsored by Artisans' Bank take over The Delaware Contemporary!

Friday night's host Guy G. Schiavi is a self-proclaimed Delaware captive who performs comedy everywhere. We’re talking basements, attics, bars, and even in front of a gelato freezer. Schiavi has also been featured at Helium Comedy Club and The Punch Line Comedy Club in Philadelphia - but mostly those other places.

Comedian Keith Djk Purnell is a hometown hero ready to take the stage Friday night as a featured act at City Theater Company's Tax Free Comedy Festival!

Born and raised right here in Wilmington, DE, Purnell has been doing comedy for well over 10 years and has appeared on Comedy Central, Sirius Radio, and Last Comic Standing.

Untitled: Art Meets Improv is our headliner for Saturday's night TAX FREE COMEDY FESTIVAL.

Untitled's unique take on the genre merges the worlds of improv comedy and visual/studio arts via collaborative experience. Their acts feature local artists across disciplines who share their work with the Untitled cast to inspire and create a comedy show unlike any you've seen before!

One away from the start of Delaware's only TAX FREE COMEDY FESTIVAL - come out for BIG laughs in the small wonder this weekend!

We are thrilled to welcome back comedian Belynda J. Cleare - seen on club stages from NYC to LA to Canada - as the headliner for Friday night's show!

Belynda’s bright, warm energy brings life to every room even as her stand-up routine broaches topics like poverty, aging, and death. She was featured in a segment on Fox 29 News for her use of comedy to cope with grief; is a frequent guest on THE HAWK radio station; and has graced the pages of CBC’s The National and in Nova Scotia’s Chronicle Herald and Guysborough Journal newspapers.

Other fun facts - Belynda's comedic, writing, and performing abilities are often overshadowed by her striking resemblance to Beyonce, and she can be seen in perpetuity walking past Andre 3000 at a party scene in AMC’s Dispatches from Elsewhere.

Delaware's Tax Free Comedy Festival is this weekend - and we're excited to host featured stand-up comedian Cecily Alexandria as part of Saturday night's stellar line-up!

If you’re looking for a smart, informed, and funny human you’ve found her right here. Cecily Alexandria's stand-up comedy has a traditional feel with a bite - truth and sarcasm and a side of delight.

Alexandria is a Black woman of many talents. Among the top descriptions is comedian. She has appeared in many comedy festivals and podcasts, and has even written a book (Va**na Strong). She has performed throughout the country including including New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philly, and has opened for Maria Bamford.

The Tax Free Comedy Festival - the only one of its kind in Delaware - is almost here! And CTC is stoked to have featured stand-up act Trayvon Fulton take the mic on Saturday night.

The Richmond, Virginia native is an American comedian and writer. Now based in Philadelphia, Trayvon is known in clubs like Punchline Philly and for hosting a weekly show at The Comedy Jawn on Monday nights.

At 18 years of age, Trayvon enlisted into the United States Army, where a traveled view of the world sparked his love for comedy. The American Military gave him a worldwide perspective on topics such as race, religion and culture differences. With his talent and ability to produce intelligent writing and a heart for making people laugh, it’s no shocker he found his way to the stage.
