💐Thank you to everyone who joined us this past week for the beginnings of a brand new display! Gallery painter and instructor Joanne Geisel has added all-new dimensions to the naturalistic paintings we know her for - delivering a series of abstracts of predatory plants, marshes, and coastlines. As Joanne's iconic impressionist landscapes shimmer with light, her newly expressive works breathe with whirling winds, temperatures, and currents. 🌊

By viewing our region through two distinct "Perspectives," Joanne digs deeper into new ideas and emotions. Her paintings themselves mirror this depth - achieving completely different effects when viewed from a distance or up close! 👁

Our local artists have outdone themselves this spring! 💐 Join us from 2-5pm today to explore their finest art yet, including our newest exhibit from painter & instructor Joanne Geisel, "Perspectives." Now in Mayfaire, Joanne Geisel is exploring brand new dimensions to her designs! 🍃Joanne uses oil paints to capture our Carolina coastlines, working from her photos or life to authentically render each scene. Beyond her impressionist landscapes, view expressive scenes from Joanne’s imagination, using abstract colors and sweeping curves to visualize natural motions. This exhibit will run through July 26th, alongside a new selection of works by our 30+ Gallery Artists! 🎨

Our artists' newest creations are sweeping through the gallery! 🍃 We'll celebrate their achievements from 2-5pm this Sunday, with special refreshments, a chance to meet our artists, and live guitar music by Miles Moore! Join us in Mayfaire to view the world through our creatives' eyes, as painter Joanne Geisel tackles all manner of subject through two distinct oil painted approaches. Says Joanne about her featured exhibit, "Perspectives":

"My goal is always to create an oil painting that I consider beautiful and shows my deep connection to nature, whether it is a landscape or an abstracted version of one."

Today, we're wrapping up one of our most imaginative exhibits yet! "Desire Path" features guests artists Lisa J. Mullikin & Hannah Fridholm – two recent arrivals to our area with fresh perspectives to share. Lisa explores our connections to culture and place, using painterly oil textures to build environments just as dreamlike as they are grounded. Hannah Fridholm's ceramic sculptures are a perfect accompaniment to Lisa's explorations. Using clay as a medium to embody transformation and impermanence, Hannah captures the fleeting, fragility of nature in time. 🌿

And save the date for next Sunday, June 14th, 2-5pm, for the Artist Reception of landscape artist & instructor Joanne Geisel's upcoming exhibit, "Perspectives." 🐋 This week, the vibrant creations of guest artists Hannah Fridholm & Lisa J. Mullikin are making a splash! These recent arrivals celebrate our connections to our environments through striking textures, moving expressions, and immersive settings. Hannah uses clay as a medium to embody the innate transformation and impermanence we experience. Meanwhile, painter & architect Lisa J. Mullikin uses oils to reflect the transitions between light and shadow, past and present. 🛤️

Explore their exhibit, "Desire Path," with us for one more week! Hannah & Lisa's fantastic artworks will be featured through Sunday, June 7th both in-person and online, alongside continuously refreshed works by our local gallery artists. Sheltered from today's heavy rains, we're amazed by the curving structures, vibrant colors, and detailed layers of artists Brian Evans, Elizabeth Darrow, Constance Pappalardo, Clarence Mayo, Kirah Van Sickle, Debra Bucci, Joan McLoughlin, Rebecca Yeomans, Roberto Vengoechea, Traudi Thornton (1940-2023), and so many others! Even within the span of our exhibits, pieces rotate throughout our displays on a continual basis. So we'd love to have you this afternoon, tomorrow for Memorial Day, or any day of the week to see each of our artists' latest developments! 💐
