🎻 Meet the Artist: Stefan Jackiw

We’re excited to welcome acclaimed violinist Stefan Jackiw to Wilmington for our Opening Night Concert on September 26!

Jackiw has earned a reputation for his musical insight, adventurous spirit, and passionate performances. He has appeared with many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and San Francisco Symphony, among others.

For Opening Night, Jackiw will join Music Director Peter Askim and the Wilmington Symphony for Samuel Barber’s Violin Concerto—a powerful and lyrical work that showcases both the beauty and virtuosity of the violin.

He’ll share the stage with the WSO for an unforgettable evening celebrating Three Generations of American Music, featuring music by Carlos Simon, Samuel Barber, and Antonín Dvořák.

We're excited to announce the appointment of Paul Leiner as the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra's Principal Cellist!

Since joining the WSO two years ago, Paul has been a valued member of the orchestra, as well as a Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestras Chamber Ensemble Coach, and we are thrilled to see him step into this leadership role.

Big news for the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra! 🎉

Please join us in welcoming Roy Robuck as our new Youth Orchestra Conductor!

For more than 40 years, Roy has been part of the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra family and has dedicated his career to inspiring young musicians in our community. We can't wait to see the impact he'll make as he leads the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra into its next chapter.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Linda Estep for her outstanding leadership over the past three seasons. Her dedication and commitment have provided exceptional musical experiences for young musicians, and we are deeply grateful for the lasting impact she has made on our Youth Orchestra.
