The UNCW Comedy Arts Performance Club stands with the black community and its victims, not only from the most recent events, but also the victims of hundreds of years of tragedy. Our club prides itself on a loving environment that we hope is welcoming to all. Improv is an art that focuses on building community and growing towards a common goal through communication and unity. It is clear what the goal should be for our community and our national community at large. As a club, as a community, as a family we will stand with you.
We are wishing everyone in our family and the community beyond health and safety, and we are looking forward to being with you again in the Fall.
To our improv family: Please see below links to help support and educate. Thank you

MEET KARA!!!!!! She is going to be our vice president and the troupe's fearless leader for the coming school year!
Meet Stephen! He's a 2020-21 board member for the UNCW Improv Club. We are looking forward to laughing with you Stephen!
UNCW Improv Club updated their website address.
Hey everyone! Rachel here. You may know that I had the honor of serving as VP of the Comedy Arts Performance Club this year! One of my main responsibilities as VP was running our improv troupe, Hectic Hilarity. Unfortunately, the pandemic cut our semester short. We spent a month and a half preparing for fourâyou heard me, 4!âperformances that were supposed to take place in March and April: the 2nd Annual Written/Unwritten event with the Writer's Association, the spring CABA, a Dub Awards performance video, and our 2nd Annual April Fool's Improv-Palooza. I'm so proud of each and every member of the troupe for the hard work they put into this semester despite the circumstances. I am sad to graduate and leave them behind, but know that they will do amazing things in the future!
Without further ado, may I have a virtual round of applause for the 2019-2020 UNCW Improv Troupe! đđđ
Thanks to the Comedy Arts Performance Club for a great four years! â€ïž
ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM. Check your emails improvisers! Log on at 6 oâclock for fun and games. Stream âSupernova Girlâ until then until itâs time to zoom, zoom, zoom! (Make my heart go boom boom boom...đ anyone remember Zenon?)
We want YOU...to vote in the Improv Club election! Nominate the people you want to see leading the club next year. Disclaimer: officers must be at UNCW for both the fall and spring! Check your inbox for the nomination form before the big boy elections happen. â đșđž
Improvisers, it breaks my heart that we cannot meet in person for the rest of the semester. However, just because weâre social distancing doesnât mean the fun has to stop! Follow along on our Instagram stories () for some digital rounds of Potpourri, and send in any virtual game requests you have! â€ïž
You know the drill! Tomorrow we have our last meeting before spring break. After we party on for a week, weâll resume with a meeting Tuesday the 17th. Also after break weâll be having elections. Think about who you want to nominate!
Hey guys. Unfortunately Iâve been eaten by a shark and wonât be at tonightâs improv meeting. đŹđ BUT unless youâre in a sharkâs belly like me, youâve got no excuse! Come on down to Leutze 139 at 6 to play some fun fun games. ALSO if youâre dedicated about improv and are interested in taking a leadership role in the club, elections are coming up soon! âHey everyone. Itâs me, Finn from Star Wars. You probably know all about my adventures in the stars, but did you know that I also have a passion for improv comedy? Chewbacca and I started an improv club for space and itâs going really well. Kylo Ren even showed up and didnât start a fight once! I guess itâs true that improv brings people together. If you want to join an earth improv club, come to the UNCW Improv meeting tonight at 6 in Leutze 104. See you then!â

Happy Holidays improvisers!
Our club member Matthew has another acting opportunity. He needs actors to be extras in his film about evil politician Ghetsis.
Logline: âGhetsis is a charismatic but psychotic political figurehead for Team Plasma. What no one knows though is that he intends to use peopleâs blind faith in âgood politicsâ to take over the world. Heâs psychotic and the film varies from perspectives, starting at Ghetsisâ rise to power to his son, the appointed King, finding someone who truly loves him and he comes to see through his fathers rise and must try and destroy the corrupt political organization that he created.â
Whatâs needed: âActors, anyone and everyone.â
What will be happening: âGhetsis gives a political speech to a rally of people. Looking for people to be apart of the group as well as people to play more substantial roles (the Seven Sages, Grunts, etc).â
Incentive: âStrong Portfolio Builderâ
Reach out to on Instagram if interested, and see you all in the spring!
As the sun sets on another semester, I think of how lucky I am to have a great bunch of friends in improv club. Come to Leutze 139 at 6 for the LAST meeting of the semester!!
