BFA in Dance – East Carolina University

Abigail Cruz is currently continuing her education at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and is a former elite competitive dancer with Carolina Dance Alliance. She has had a lifelong passion for movement and performance, beginning her dance journey at just three years old and entering the competitive dance world at age five.

Throughout her training, Abigail studied a wide variety of dance styles and earned multiple choreography awards for her creative, entertaining, and high-energy routines.

With years of experience both on stage and in the classroom, Abigail is passionate about sharing her love of dance with the next generation. She enjoys teaching, choreographing, and mentoring young dancers while helping them develop strong technique, confidence, artistry, and a genuine love for performing.

Abigail is dedicated to creating a positive and encouraging environment where every dancer can grow, achieve their goals, and reach their full potential.

I began dancing at Techniques In Motion School of Dance when I was just two years old and started competing at age eight. Over the next eight years, I trained in a variety of styles and earned multiple judges’ awards for my Hip-Hop solos, along with a “Most Improved” award presented at the recital.

Since my time as a former TIM Company dancer, I attended Appalachian State University, where I was a member of the Hip-Hop dance club Entropy Dance Crew for all four years. During my time with the crew, I served on the executive board as Treasurer for three years, trained with instructors from across North Carolina, and choreographed combinations and performances for showcases.

I’m excited to return to TIM, share what I’ve learned, and dance with you all soon!
