e form of clapping or whistling after an amazing solo or asking questions throughout the show is absolutely encouraged!! The experience is meant to be a connective one between the audience and musician and when everyone is engaged, it is absolutely MAGICAL! For all booking inquiries, please visit www.liveatteds.com and find the 'BOOKING' tab for more information. Due to the overwhelming amount of inquiries we receive, we do not respond to booking requests through social media. Hours and days of operation vary. Please check the “SHOWS” page of our website for all upcoming show info. If we do not have a show listed on our website, we will not be open. Tickets are available for purchase in advance through our website. We do encourage purchasing your tickets in advance to guarantee your seat. We are a very small space, only 62 seats, and sell out shows frequently. Please note, however, that all ticket sales are final and no refunds will be issued for any reason. We are in constant communication with our musicians on the progress of ticket sales and those artists make their plans based on the guarantee of tickets we sell in advance. This policy is the industry standard amongst all music venues and we appreciate your understanding and support of this practice very much.

This Friday Night ✨

Jess Klein came to this world to pull firebrand power and childlike joy from our darkest shadows. Her acoustic-driven, hook-laden story songs revel in the polychrome of human experience - joy, rage, sensuality and resilience. The New York Times calls her “A songwriter with a voice of unblinking tenacity.”

The Bluegrass Situation hails Jess’s work as “one part grassroots social activism, two parts alt-country guitar rock — a combo we can certainly get behind.” Klein’s newest album, 2023’s When We Rise, harnesses this potent combination with themes of empowerment and the joy of overcoming set to a dynamic and deeply introspective roots-inflected soundtrack.

✨This Saturday 6/13✨

TANASI is a worldgrass trio based in Asheville, North Carolina, channeling global folk traditions through the drive, textures, and close harmonies of an Appalachian string band. With Billy Cardine on dobro and slide instruments, Anya Hinkle on vocals and guitar, and Mary Lucey on vocals, upright bass, and clawhammer banjo, the group unites three widely acclaimed roots artists whose combined careers span decades of touring, recording, and cross-cultural exchange.

You might recognize Billy from when he played with Acoustic Syndicate back at Ted’s in early 2020 or when he and Mary played in Biscuit Burners.

🚨JUST ANNOUNCED🚨

The Larry Keel Duo is heading back to Ted’s this September!

Larry Keel is an award-winning innovative flatpicking guitarist and singer/songwriter hailing from Appalachia and currently residing in historic Lexington, VA. Raised in a musical family steeped in the mountain culture of the region, Keel began from an early age to forge a distinctive sound, taking bluegrass and classic country music and infusing those styles with a rock edge and elements of improvisational jazz. The Larry Keel Duo, consisting of Larry Keel on acoustic guitar and Winston Mitchell on mandolin and acoustic guitar, are masters of their instruments, drawing heavily from Keel’s catalog of original music and imaginative interpretations of choice covers.

Winston’s love for music started with his dad who was a skilled guitarist, singer, songwriter, and pedal steel player. Playing mostly electric guitar until his early-20s, he was introduced to the music of Jeff Austin and Yonder Mountain String Band and was immediately captivated by the energy and improvisation coming off of a pile of acoustic bootleg CDs. After playing guitar in several bands he decided to try out mandolin and immediately was hooked. With his strongest inspirations deriving from Jeff & Sam Bush’s playing, he worked his way backwards through time to get to the origins of bluegrass.
