"Inspiring the Artist Within Each Student"

DiAE integrates the arts into Delaware schools to foster a love of learning while enhancing creativity, cultural awareness and respect. Since 1982, we have been partnering with Delaware schools, museums, and other arts and cultural organizations to deliver the following 3 programs:

K-12 Aesthetic Education Residencies. DiAE professional Teaching Artists

lead hands-on workshops in dance, music, theatre, and visual arts. These art making experiences are aligned with Delaware State standards and are creatively integrated into the school curriculum. Residencies in Head Start Centers modeled on early learning through the arts program developed by the Vienna Wolf Trap Institute in Virginia. The program, Early Childhood STEM Learning Through the Arts (Early STEM/Arts), provides arts integrated content with a Wolf Trap teaching artist. We provide arts integrated workshops for Delaware teachers in public, private and charter schools throughout the state. DIAE has reached over 155,000 students and 2,700 educators.

Yesterday’s “Unearthing a Collage” teen program at Duck Creek Library in Smyrna was nothing short of amazing!

Everyone jumped right in, embraced the creative process, and got to work from the moment they arrived.

A special thank you to our teaching artists, JaQuanne LeRoy and Charlese Annette , for leading the experience with such care, creativity, and encouragement 🫂

We can’t wait to see the finished product and celebrate all the hard work that went into it. Stay tuned! ✨

A bittersweet We Rise Wednesday 💙

This marked our final We Rise Wednesday of the school year 😫 and while it’s hard to see it come to an end, we’re incredibly grateful for all that this year has held!

Over the course of the program, we’ve watched students grow in confidence, creativity, collaboration, and self-expression. We’ve seen them take risks, discover new talents, build relationships, and show up each week ready to learn.

That growth doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because of dedicated educators, committed partners, and students who embrace every opportunity placed in front of them!

Thank you to the Lewis Elementary family for allowing us to be part of this journey. It has been a privilege to learn, create, and grow alongside you this year. We can’t wait to see you again 🙂✨

We’re loving dropping off these bags to our teacher partners. 💛
It’s often the small gestures that leave the biggest impact. We love that, with our partnership with J.P. Morgan Chase, we were able to provide these bags to each teacher we partner with.

We’re so grateful for these educators, the care they pour into their classrooms, and the schools and students they serve every day.

Music, movement, laughter, and a room full of curious minds 🎶

Our time at St. Michael’s with teaching artist was nothing short of special. From the moment the littles walked into the room to the final goodbye, the energy never dropped. The students stayed engaged, explored creativity through music, and most importantly — had a whole lot of fun while learning.

These moments are why we do what we do. Creating spaces where students feel free to participate, express themselves, and discover something new is always the goal.

So if your school, learning center, or community program is looking to bring creative arts experiences to your students, we’d love to connect ✨🫂

The Arts. Meaningful conversations. Shared purpose.

We had the honor of partnering with JPMorgan Chase during their retreat in Wilmington to lead an arts-integrated experience with their legal team. What stood out most wasn’t just the creativity in the room — it was the willingness of leaders from completely different industries to come together around one common goal: supporting teachers across Delaware.

Together, we created gift bags for educators we partner with throughout the state as a small reminder that their work matters deeply and does not go unseen.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to share space, stories, and creativity with such thoughtful people. Thank you to everyone who participated, connected, and helped bring light to teachers who give so much every day.

What a weekend at the Brandywine Spring Festival of the Arts ✨

From incredible arts experiences, to meaningful conversations, great food, and meeting so many new faces, this weekend was a beautiful reminder of what community can look like when creativity is at the center. We loved getting the chance to introduce more people to the work we do across Delaware and connect with so many who believe in the power of the arts.

A huge thank you to the .springfestival team for creating this opportunity and to for welcoming everyone into such a vibrant and joyful space! We could not forget to add our sponsors and friends at CSC for supporting this work and helping make experiences like this possible!

Same time next year? 👀

Magical Mondays at lived up to the name last week ✨

Our teaching artists .leroy and .madariaga spent time with students introducing them to a new art form, and the energy in the room said it all. The students were fully engaged, excited to create, and honestly didn’t want the session to end.

There’s something really special about watching students discover a new way to express themselves and immediately connect with it. We’re grateful to Harlan Elementary for continuing to make space for creativity, exploration, and joy in the classroom.

This May, we’ll be at the Brandywine Spring Festival of the Arts creating hands-on experiences, connecting with the community, and celebrating creativity in every form.

But events like this don’t happen without people who care.

If you’ve ever wanted to give back, support arts education, or just be part of something meaningful—this is your moment.

We Rise Wednesday at Lewis Elementary has been something special to be a part of ✨🫂

While students are engaged in creative, in-school enrichment, teachers are given some time and space to collaborate, reflect, and grow together. It’s a rhythm that supports the whole school, and we can feel and see the impact!

It’s so intentional, from building a sense of belonging to strengthening community and shared goals, this work is rooted in showing up for both students and educators.

WE LOVE WE RISE WEDNESDAY 🗣️🙌
