Get • If you’re missing your dead person, there’s a way you can send them a message.

It’s called a wind phone, a they’re all over the world (just scroll through to see some examples of the plaques beside the phones). After our first Wind Phone episode, our phone number was flooded with messages for your dead people — what you miss, what they’ve missed, and how much you love them. Update - it DID pass the House. Which means it’s all the more important that you call your senators and tell them NOT to pass the bill that will fund DHS and ICE. MANY innocent lives had been taken (not just Renee Good and Alex Pretti) and MANY more people are being traumatized. We cannot stand for this.

‼️: It already passed the HOUSE to give more funds to ICE so call your SENATORS they vote this week

ICE is currently slated to receive $75 billion in funding through 2029. Now is our chance to stop that.

Currently Congress has until Jan. 31st to pass a number of appropriations bills, including the ballooned budget to DHS agencies like CBP and ICE.

All you have to do is take two minutes of your day to call your senators and congressional district representative and let them know that you disagree with the proposed budget. Peep slide 3 to find a script you can use!

Some hot tips:
☎️ If you can find their local district offices they usually have more staff available to talk to constituents so your voice can be heard.

☎️ Remember you’ll probably talk to a staff assistant who is friendly and dealing with lots of calls, especially right now. Be respectful, but firm.

☎️ No answer? Leave a voicemail and try again the next day.

Every single day the Senior Staff and the Senator get a report of the 3 most-called-about topics for the day and exactly how many people called. These calls matter and they do make a change. Call today and every day until Jan. 31st.

Get • Today’s book is Busy Bodies: The Busy ABCs by Clare Bowman, illustrated by Virginia Carten, 1964. What a mid century modern gem this one is! Learn your ABCs and about different occupations including what mommies and daddies do. I just love the color choices and the stylish ladies. I looked up to see what other work Clare Bowmman had done and read that she started in advertising, which wasn’t surprising to me. Her designs are so classic 🩵
