Hi all!

On behalf of the UNCW Theatre Marketing Team, I am excited to let you know that we have a new way for students, faculty, and alumni to publicize their work on social media!

This Microsoft Form will be in the Instagram bio for your convenience. We ask that you complete the form at least 3 days prior to when you would first like the content posted. This will allow us to have your content on hand to be ready and posted before all of your awesome work we want to share with our community! This is geared toward still posts and story posts—however, you may send any theatre-related TikToks/reels you create to via Instagram DM or share through Google Drive to [email protected] for review and posting.

Please do not hesitate to share any content with us or ask for content from us, we are excited to see what you can create/the work you are doing! This content can include promotion for events such as CABAH, Play in a Day, or final performances, as well as alumni news, faculty news, work outside of UNCW, educational opportunities, backstage TikToks, and more! We only ask that you keep things PG. 😊

Please follow these instructions for any content creation or posting requests beginning now and continuing through the 2024-2025 school year. I appreciate your cooperation in advance! Please let me know if you have any questions or run into any trouble.

It is with great honor and deep pleasure that the Department of Theatre would like to announce that the Board of Trustees of the University of North Carolina Wilmington approved the recommendation that Dr. Terry Rogers and Dr. Renee Vincent be appointed to the rank of Professor Emerita in the Department of Theatre.

The University identifies this position as an honor accorded to retired faculty in recognition of their distinguished and sustained service to the university.

Early in the Fall 2021 academic year we will conduct a small reception to honor these individuals for their vision and dedication to our/their department. We would like to include comments, thoughts, and memories from those who were touched by these two individuals. If you wish to be a part of this memorial, please forward your words to [email protected].

Hello!

I'm a current student at UNCW and I am working on a SURCA funded, IRB approved research project titled "Q***r Voices: A Critical Q***r Pedagogical Study for LGBTQ+ Inclusion". This research is being done by myself, a grad student and two professors to explore the experiences of LGBTQ+ students in the university setting. One of our deliverables will be a gender inclusion faculty resource page for the LGBTQIA center. It will provide tools for faculty and staff to offer an inclusive environment for q***r and non-binary students.

With the current conversations that are happening, I wanted to see if you would be open to posting our flyer for people who may want to participate in our research. I feel that our project is a step towards inclusivity in higher education; truly hearing and understanding the words, taking in lived experiences and channeling that into action. This will be the first resource page implemented in the UNC system. I'd love to discuss further if you have any questions or suggestions as to how I can get our flyer seen!
