As you all know, I had surgery on my knee in December. Since then, I’ve been trying to take steps on making sure my body is holding up the best it can.
Pretty much not having any drag shows over the summer was a blessing. I went to my doctor and he said the inflammation in my knees and hips have went down tremendously. Never realize how much pressure you put on your joints in heels until you don’t do it for a long period of time. That along with getting back to the gym has helped. I’ve found joy in bartending again and it’s not destroying my body.
With that being said, I am NOT retiring from drag, but I am surely not going to be as active as I have been over the years. I’ve passed along Docklands, cut down my schedule, and I’m focusing more on me and my family, especially with everything going on with my mom. I gotta support my dad because it’s taking a lot out of him.
Amerie Jameson will always be apart of me, but I gotta learn when it’s just too much. ❤️
