Jake and Holly are BACK!

The local hockey players have been very fortunate to have Jake and Holly willing to come to the area to provide top-notch skating and skills training in the summers. This would not be possible without West MN Hockey and the relationships we develop over the years. And it definitely wouldn't be possible without the participation of all the players in the area who are truly dedicated to becoming the best players they can be.

Skating and skills are the foundation of the game. This summer Jake has added skills sessions to accompany the skating sessions. Also Holly may be adding a figure skating clinic as well -- details to come on that!

Congratulations to Kurt Goar on being part of the inaugural induction class into the Arizona Amateur Hockey Association Hall of Fame yesterday.

Kurt has been part of our Warrior Camp program and his partner Holly Harrington has helped countless skaters develop right here in western MN during our summer programs.

With all the focus on egos, it’s not often enough that we pay respect to the people that have been coaching and helping players in this game for decades with no personal gains, other than the satisfaction of fulfilling parts of other peoples lives.

To Kurt, Holly and those others like you, you are the true heroes of the game. While you never seek the spotlight and often hide from it, you deserve to be in it to occasionally remind us what giving back to the game is truly about.
