The Packing House

The Packing House Historic performance venue and event space. Programing in music, film, dance, & literature. The Packing House at The Mill Works is a special place.

Its heavy hand-hewn chestnut beams, wooden floors and ceilings, and brick construction present a unique ambiance for creative activity and innovation. Once a part of the Gardiner Hall Jr. Company and Andover Tool & Die operation, this historic hall constructed in 1870 now provides an intimate environment for performance and events. The Packing House offers a variety of distinctive programs in acou

stic music, dance, film, literature, and the creative arts. Programming is sponsored by the Eastern Connecticut Center for History, Art, and Performance (EC-CHAP), an independent 501.c.3 member-based non-profit cultural organization. As a flexible space, The Packing House is also available to rent for creative projects, events, meetings, receptions, workshops, recitals, and much more. We invite you to visit The Mill Works and learn how The Packing House may serve as a unique alternative space for your next project or event. We sincerely encourage your input and collaboration, and hope that you will consider becoming a member of EC-CHAP to support and be a part of exciting project. All proceeds from programs generated by EC-CHAP are used to continue to improve the performance experience of our patrons, and preserve and maintain the facility and its infrastructure.

📢Important Update to Our pages📢

Hi Folks! Starting soon we will be simplifying our pages to make it easier to connect and share information. Our The Packing House page will be 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 to "Eastern Connecticut Center for History, Art, & Performance (EC-CHAP)". This will become our single hub for all updates, events, and news across all EC-CHAP programs!

As many of you know, The Packing House is the historic venue for performances and events hosted by the Eastern Connecticut Center for History, Art, and Performance (EC-CHAP). However, some may not know that EC-CHAP also operates the Gardiner Hall Jr. History Museum, the Dye & Bleach House Community Gallery, and an Artist In Residence (AIR) Program!

TLDR:
- If you are already following The Packing House, you're all set! Soon, this page will appear with our full nonprofit title - hosting our history, art, and performance components all on one page.

- We will be deleting our secondary Eastern Connecticut Center for History, Art, and Performance page.
