Windham Theatre Guild

Windham Theatre Guild "Celebrating 40 years of music, magic, and memories" These productions are held at the Burton Leavitt Theatre.

The Windham Theatre Guild is a non-profit organization that has been producing quality community theatre since 1985. Hundreds of community volunteers join us each year as we strive to offer live theatrical and musical productions and education in the performing arts that promote the growth, quality and general welfare of the Arts in Eastern and Central Connecticut. Each year, the Guild produces si

x Main Stage productions ranging from comedies to dramadies, to murder mysteries to musicals. The WTG has also produced Shakespeare, drama and plays by local playwrights in second stage productions. In addition to theatrical performances the Guild offers Broadway chorus concerts, youth chorus concerts, performances by local musicians and bus trips to Broadway. The Windham Theatre Guild currently draws an average attendance of 5,000 people at over sixty performances a year. The organization continues to grow and expand its program each year, offering a variety of opportunities for members of the community to learn about and experience many aspects of the theatre. The WTG depends on the community for all of its participants. All auditions are completely open and the Guild is constantly looking for volunteers to help in all areas of its productions.

Some lovely pictures from and some equally lovely words from our dear friend Jack Nardi after seeing Men On Boats last night:

“Given the almost generic name of the show, I came to it with some reservation…What I saw made me think you had put the “re” in theatre! Real Entertainment! A wonderful ensemble so imaginatively woven together - I was alway in anticipation of what would come next…Everything kept moving so well, made me wonder how a director can pull together so many diverse, clever scenes that are performed with effortless playfulness.

You know in my career I have sat through thousands of hours of tech and dress rehearsals, and openings... Every once in a while you see a production that has something special, the right mix of performance and direction - a show with HEART! Made me want to find some mountain top to scream out loud, ‘DON’T MISS THIS SHOW!’”

If you see Jack climbing any mountains today, please thank him for us!

Men on Boats continues with a show at 7:30 tonight (5/30) and a matinee at 2pm tomorrow (5/31) and starts up again next Thursday (6/4) with a new Pay What You Can night!

We’re only a few hours away from opening night of Men on Boats and we’re so excited to announce that all of our cast has been safely removed from trees and are ready to take the stage, especially Jaelyn! Playing OG’s younger brother Seneca and Just Jim’s farming partner Johnson, Jaelyn navigates dangerous situations on the river and in the camp. Fortunately for you, there is no danger in the theater so come take a seat and watch the cast do all the hard stuff while you relax with some refreshing concessions for a fun Friday night!

Yippee it’s Yvette! Playing the well read OG and new farmer Just Jim, Yvette Charice has become quite a beloved performer at WTG. When she’s not on stage she can frequently be found ushering and helping out in the house for our shows. But she is on stage in this one so we do need a few more volunteers to fill in those slots so sign up today!

What a wonderful Wednesday it is because this Wednesday we get to introduce you to Jordan Chenette! Jordan has previously graced our stage in Rocky Horror, Puffs, and a Meteor Night or two, but now you get to see her as the ambitious and occasionally defiant William Dunn!
Volunteer opportunities are still available so you can see the show for FREE by helping us out in the house!
