The Boudoum, Boudoum! Environment Always free to attend! This dance was an excuse to have a fit or throw your eyes around or be loud. This and more are what we expect from you.

The nonsense word Boudoum comes from the Danse Calinda, as it used to

be performed in the Congo Square during slave times. It was a brief but necessary form of liberation for the oppressed on the physical, mental, social and emotional fronts, and signified the unrepresented, underlying culture of the day, all under the watchful gaze of the slave owners, who would break it up at sundown.

Since the storm the Covenant Soup Kitchen here in Willimantic has been doing their best to provide for residents without food and other necessities. With the holidays coming up the food bank will need all the help they can from our community. Please consider helping in any way you can: http://www.covenantsoupkitchen.org/howcanhelp_volunteer.cfm

Keep in mind that donations of non-perishables and funds can be dropped off at the soup kitchen, the Food Co-Op, Stop and Shop or multiple other locations.

Covenant Soup Kitchen is a non-profit organization, which means we rely on help from the general public to aid our guests.

Willimantic Records is looking for artist prints to sell for a couple of bucks at Third Thursdays, hit up Joe (or me) if you're interested. Stickers, zines and the like are going in a free or cheap box so get at him with those too. Also- early may record art show to accompany a film about -you guessed it- records with a Q and A with the film maker afterward. Artists interested in participating should go to the fu***ng record store. Now.
