Ark Encounter's Ararat Ridge Zoo The Ararat Ridge Zoo at the Ark Encounter houses nearly 200 amazing animals from around the world! Camel rides and camel encounters have an additional cost.

The Ararat Ridge Zoo, children's zoo, kangaroo walkabout, and animal programs are included with Ark Encounter admission.

We love our birds at Ararat Ridge Zoo, especially the native, non-releasable birds of prey that have found a home with us!

Sirius was found as a chick and taken to a licensed bird-of-prey rehabilitation center in western Kentucky. Due to his young age at intake, he became imprinted on humans. After several failed release attempts, he was deemed non-releasable by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). Because we hold the necessary permits to house native birds of prey from USFWS, we were able to offer this black vulture a permanent home.

Now, Sirius is in training to participate in our educational programs and our Behind-the-Scenes Birds of Prey experience, where he helps teach guests about the incredible design and importance of vultures!

🦘 Meet the newest little member of our mob...Daisy! 🦘

We’re excited to introduce our new kangaroo joey at the Ararat Ridge Zoo! She recently joined us from another zoological facility in North Carolina, and at about 8 months old, this sweet girl is still getting plenty of TLC from her keepers. She’s being bottle-fed and spends lots of time resting in a cozy handmade pouch—just like she would with mom.

Now, she’s beginning the exciting process of getting comfortable in her new home and meeting the rest of our mob in the walkabout! There’s a lot to learn when you’re the new kid on the block—new faces, new surroundings, and plenty of hopping to do.
We can’t wait to watch her grow, explore, and bond with the mob. Be sure to keep an eye out for this sweet joey during your next visit!
