In 2010, I had been reading Oh My Goddess for its entire 16 years, making it the longest running manga of its time. I wrote a heartfelt letter to the author and sent fan art that depicted the main characters having had loads of babies, in contrast to the actual storyline, where they would hardly ever kiss. It was a "what if" on the notion of them having the same kind of life I had: kids, kids, kids. In the letter, I reflected on how much art I had sacrificed for the kids while the author had sacrificed so much, including starting a family, for his art.

Now, 16 MORE years later, something told me to try to get my hands on the volume they featured me in, as a gift for my kids, since now they are growing up and love OMG! too. I cried instantly, breath taken, to see they gave it a full 3-page spread. I didnt know it at the time I sent it, but I think this will be a lovely keepsake for them to remember me by, now that things have switched around entirely. With this, I hope they see that I was always trying to show them who I really was behind the overworked mom, and what was always the most important thing to me: loving them.
