Willcon presents “Cosplay Kingdom” with Katwoman Cosplay, Britwhitt Cosplay and Alice Palace Cosplay.

Attendees of all experience levels—first-time cosplayers, curious fans, and seasoned costume builders—can stop by to ask questions, troubleshoot costume problems, or learn new techniques.

Throughout the day, the three award-winning cosplayers will offer quick demonstrations, informal Q&A sessions, and one-on-one advice, creating a welcoming space where anyone can learn, share ideas, and take their cosplay skills to the next level. The Willcon atmosphere is friendly and collaborative, embodying the spirit of the cosplay community: creative, supportive, and open to everyone.

Eastern Kentucky Ghostbusters are coming to WillCon!!!!

The Eastern Kentucky Ghostbusters are a fan group celebrating the Ghostbusters franchise through cosplay, community events, and charity appearances across Eastern Kentucky. Outfitted with screen-inspired proton packs and uniforms, they bring the fun of paranormal investigation to conventions, festivals, and local gatherings—entertaining fans while supporting their community.

FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! WillCon will be featuring an Introduction to tabletop Role Playing Games station featuring our special guest DM (dungeon Master) Ben!!!

DM Ben has been running tabletop games for six years, as well as professional games for three years for the company Start Playing Games. Ben has experience running games in multiple systems, including D&D 5e, Dolmenwood, Shadowdark, and EZD6. Ben has run over 200 professional game sessions and has run personal games for friends, family, and coworkers, specializing in bringing new players into the hobby. Ben runs an inclusive table, ensuring that everyone can have a fun and safe time around the table. When not DMing, you can find Ben working as a counseling associate, helping at his church, and singing in two semi-professional choirs.

Here are the guidelines for this year's cosplay contest. Can't wait to see what our community brings to the Williamson Fieldhouse this year.

WillCon will be holding its Cosplay Contest. Prizes will be awarded in the three competitive categories. Registration starts at 10AM with a parade and judging starting at 2:00 PM
WillCon Cosplay Contest
Categories

Exhibition
This category is for people who only want to show off their costumes on stage for fun. It will not be for competition nor will there be awards for this category. This category allows: commission costumes and store-bought costumes.

Juniors (Ages 12 and Under)
This category is for those who are 12 and under. You are allowed to receive help on your costume from friends and family.

Novice
This category is for contestants that are new to making costumes for themselves. No more than 1 major award and/or no more than 4 costumes made.

Master
This category is for those who have 2 or more major awards and/or 5 or more costumes made.

RULES AND GUIDELINES
Contestants can only enter one category.
Due to the unpredictable size of groups, a prize for each member cannot be guaranteed.
No skits during judging or catwalk.
No nudity.
No profanity is allowed on stage. That includes messages on signs or clothes. Anyone who violates this will be disqualified from the competition.
No political or religious statements during the catwalk. Anyone who violates this will be disqualified from the competition.
Do not use any sort of projectile at all! Nothing must leave your person while you are on the catwalk. Anyone who violates this rule may be disqualified from the competition and may be asked to leave the convention area.
No flash pots, explosive devices, or similar special effects are to be used. Anyone who violates this rule may be disqualified from the competition and may be asked to leave the convention area.
ALL prop weapons must conform to the WillCon Weapons Policy, which is as follows: All weapons must be non-working and peace bonded. No functioning projectile weapons – including water pistols, silly-string guns, and Ping-Pong pistols will be permitted. Bladed weapons must be cased or sheathed at all times.
Absolutely No clowning around or showing off weapons. Any weapon used in an offensive manner will be confiscated. Anyone who violates this rule may be disqualified from the competition and may be asked to leave the convention.
We expect you to use good judgment; with your help, we can continue to allow peace-bonded weapons. All weapons must be checked prior to entry.
Costumes must be self-contained.
Do not enter or exit the catwalk except at the designated points.
Each contestant may only enter one costume into competition.
The contestant and/or assistants of the contestant must handle large elaborate costumes. WillCon will not be able to provide assistants.

We are saddened to hear of filmmaker and author, Danny Boyd’s passing. The stories from his Mingo County days were inspiring to local creatives and we were blessed that he was a guest during the early days of WillCon.
