The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge
Decades ago, a terrifying wolf swept through a Bavarian village, turning townsfolk into werewolves and leaving the town in ruins. Now, 40 years later, the annual Festival of the Silent Bells seeks to honor that haunting past. As the festival begins, the village is eerily quiet, but soon, unsettling sounds emerge—footsteps, low growls, and the glint of bright red eyes. The wolf has returned.
This is The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf's Revenge at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. It's the spiritual successor to the original Big Bad Wolf rollercoaster designed by Arrow Dynamics, that ran at the park from June 15, 1984 to September 7, 2009. This new version of the family inverted rollercoaster opened on May 23, 2025 and was designed by Swiss firm Bolliger and Mabillard. The coaster is 2,583 feet long and features two chain lift hills, reaching a maximum height of 67 feet and a maximum speed of 40 miles per hour. It was built on the site of Drachen Fire, another Arrow Dynamics rollercoaster which closed in 1998.
