Programming
For the most part, programmers have been getting up to speed with our engine (ImpactJS) and the current status of our project. In addition, we've established a well-organized way to share files between all club members on Slack, started work on an enemy that follows and damages the player, and created an on-screen display for the player's health and short duration of invincibility after taking damage. As Ben said in his e-mail, we'll be continuing our introduction to ImpactJS this week as well as starting to dole out individual responsibilities.
Art
Art is really trucking along! Club T-shirt designs are underway and look pretty freaking awesome! In terms of the game, we've completed the aesthetic details for the main character and are now working to bridge everyone's concept sketches into a 3-D modeled character.
Writing
The writing team has also been focusing on character profiles. In the last two meetings, writers and artists have been working closely together to make sure the main character's physicality matches her personality, and vice versa. In addition, we've nailed down some more details about our antagonist and are working on a possible revision of the opening/tutorial dialogue that's more representative of our protagonist's personality.
Music
I'm still working on the music for the second visit to the first planet! I'm almost done going through and writing the separate parts on the piano. Next, I'll just have to orchestrate (choose what instruments I want in the final piece) and edit.
