Before the restoration started, we had one job that had to be completed..

🐝Honey bees in the top corner of the front of the house needed removed 🍯

The colony would typically die off over winter and then come late spring/early summer, a new swarm would take the old one’s place.

In September, we opened up walls, relocated the existing colony, extracted all of the comb and honey, and plugged as many of the exterior holes as we could.

A swarm trap was then put up with old brood comb to instead lure any scout bees to it and not the holes in the house that we missed, in hopes that the bees would move into a box that we could relocate to our apiary.

✨And today, IT WORKED! ✨

Hopefully once the exterior is all patched and painted, we can avoid future swarms in the house.

I know I’ve said it before..

But I will never not be in awe of the sheer beauty and design of this house. Not an ounce of detail missed.. the amount of planning it would’ve taken.. and so meticulously executed..

So dainty and feminine. Grand yet homey.

All without the help of a Pinterest board or endless internet searches..

I often wonder if the construction and design came together exactly as they envisioned or if they ever wished they did anything different?

We’re looking for someone to photoshop a picture of our house with different exterior paint colors to help us decide what to go with. Who can do this for us??
