Camel Art Space is an artist-operated exhibition space with a focus on current issues in art within a not-for-profit framework and is affiliated with the studio artists at 722 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. Camel Art Space does not represent artists in the traditional se

nse, but merely composes shows of their works for the inherent merits of showing art. In an inclusive spirit, Camel Art Space is open to proposals from independent curators and artists. As a member of the Williamsburg Gallery Association, Camel Art Space participates in 2:nd Friday Art Walk. Camel Art Space has been named by New York Magazine as one of the City’s new galleries to watch. www.camelartspace.com

The wooden camel behind the window of Camel Art Space was wearing a festive red cravat that night, and despite it was looking very fancy, I could see the sadness in its eyes. Its days of fame when it stood proudly as the mascot of Camel Art Space were leaning quickly towards their end.

With Souvenir Had Camel Art Space its last exhibition after a 3 year run in East Williamsburg with over 25 exhibitions. The artists that ran the space have moved on to Ridgewood NY, where they will open Parallel Art Space on April 14th, 2012.
If you 'LIKE' Parallal Art Space you will be kept in the loop regarding upcoming exhibition information and the likes.
