Pazzi Lazzi Commedia dell'arte troupe in the Boston area Mission: Pazzi Lazzi is a COMMEDIA DELL'ARTE troupe native to the Boston area.

The company strives both to educate and entertain their audience. All members of the troupe play several characters, of both genders. We mostly write our scenarios based on 16th-17th century plots and on modern news. Our goal is to teach about Commedia to both actors and non-actors.

🎭 We had an incredible time performing "The Two Look-Alikes", a show based on the improvisation of 10 actors inspired by a late 1500s Commedia dell'Arte anonymous scenario, directed by Chiara Durazzini. All the stock characters were present: the nobles Silvio and Flavia, the stingy Pantalone, the courtesan Ortentia, the servants Franceschina, Sardellino and Zanni, the innkeeper Coviello, and let's not forget Dottor Galeno and Capitanio!

🙏 Many thanks to Bentley University via Alessia Dalsant for hosting and sponsoring the event, and to the Consulate General of Italy in Boston for coming to the show and always supporting our projects!

Capitanio is asking Coviello to make alterations on a dress and ring to give to the beautiful courtesan Ortentia, plus... he wants to eat!
