WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (June 1, 2026) – Busch Gardens Williamsburg officially unveiled Verbolten: Forbidden Turn on Saturday. The Mid-Atlantic’s first and only drop-track coaster invites guests to embark on a thrilling new journey deep into the Black Forest. The reimagined coaster offers a unique experience unlike anything else at the park, featuring an all-new storyline, immersive special effects and surprising encounters at every turn,
As riders race through the Black Forest at speeds up to 53 miles per hour, they’ll navigate more than 2,800 feet of track, encounter an unexpected drop-track element before plunging 88 feet toward the Rhine River. With a 48-inch height requirement, Verbolten: Forbidden Turn delivers a high-energy adventure that families can conquer together.
Busch Gardens Members were among the first to experience Verbolten: Forbidden Turn during exclusive ride time. Members enjoyed all-new theming elements on this iconic roller coaster, solidifying Verbolten: Forbidden Turn as a fan favorite. On Saturday, the Virginia park celebrated with a Grand Opening Ceremony, complete with a ribbon cutting, ceremonial first ride and a DJ dance party. Stock car drivers from Langley Speedway joined local dignitaries and Busch Gardens leadership for the inaugural ride.
