More of the moments that created America happened right here in Virginia than anywhere else in the nation. From the earliest foundations of our country to the ideas that shaped freedom itself, Virginia’s history helped build America.
Now we have an opportunity to recognize that legacy.
We’re working to adopt a new official state slogan:
“Virginia is
The Birthplace of America.” 🇺🇸
This slogan celebrates Virginia’s unique role in American history and helps educate future generations about where the story of our nation truly began. As we approach United States Semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of American Independence, this is the perfect moment to honor Virginia’s place in that story and inspire the next 250 years.
But we need your help.
We must reach 1,000 signatures to make this petition official so it can be presented to the Governor and the Virginia General Assembly for review.
