This lovely wahine is named Simmone after one of my best dancing buddies. She sports a turquoise skirt with a raffia bustle accented with green leaves, and a band with a pop of orange flowers and cowry shells. Having matching ei-eis (hand tassels), her head piece features a natural hau rosette adorned with a touch of turquoise and cowry shell. The satin bodice completes the outfit along with the pearl necklace. She is now living in Rio Grande, NJ.

Kakalina (Katherine) is helping to celebrate the wedding anniversary of a young woman of Tahitian descent. A colorful hot pink hip band with tassels adorns this turquoise grass skirt. The shell lei adorns the pink bodice, and hand tassels and a hei (headpiece) featuring a large shell decoration and multi-colored feathers complete the look. She can be found in Wildwood Crest, NJ.

These are the first six original Jersey Shore Hula Dancer Dolls, designed for and given as Christmas presents to 6 strong women in my family - my mother, aunt, two sisters, sister-in-law, and "adopted" sister. Throughout my life and dancing career, they were encouraging, constructively critical, and supportive. Some of my greatest fans! Love these ladies forever . . .
