Micheal is the Director of the Fresh Expressions House of Studies at United Theological Seminary, Director of Re-missioning for Fresh Expressions US, and Cultivator of Fresh Expressions for the The Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church. Michael and his wife Jill also co-pastor two traditional congregations and a network of 15 fresh expression that meet in tattoo parlors, dog parks, burrito joints, yoga studios, Facebook Groups, and Zoom rooms.

His new book Contextual Intelligence, explores a key competency found in fx practitioners; 'the ability to accurately diagnose a context and make correct decisions regarding what to do.'

'While the Western church is all about “add water and stir” formulas and strategies, high CQ disciples start with prayerful listening to the context. One facet of CQ is the ability to understand the limits of our knowledge, and to adapt that knowledge to a context different from the one in which it was developed. Strategies are secondary to sensing and comprehending the matrix of factors that make up our local mission field. This is the essence of incarnational mission, we empty ourselves, put on flesh, and move into the neighborhood (Jn 1:14).'

We are a group of spiritual friends getting together, some of us with our kids, to skate and pray. All ages are welcome. We do pop-up gatherings at both outdoor tracks and indoor rinks. Dr. Michael Be
