We are still in awe of the incredible diversity, talent, and heart poured into every single art panel created for Threads of Pride. Each piece told a story—of identity, resilience, love, and community. From bold colors to quiet reflections, these panels became more than just fabric and paint—they became powerful declarations of presence and pride.

To everyone who contributed: thank you for showing up, expressing yourself, and building something truly beautiful together.

If you created a panel and would like to have it back, please reach out to us—we’d be happy to reunite you with your work.

Remaining panels will either be sold or donated, with all proceeds going toward services and support for local LGBTQIA+ youth. Your creativity continues to make a difference. 💖

✨THREADS OF PRIDE was a HIT!✨

What an unforgettable journey. Our culminating event this weekend was incredible—a vibrant celebration of art, identity, and community. Thank you to every single person who showed up, created, performed, danced, cried, shared, supported, and celebrated with us.

From the very first community art day to the final drag performance, this project has been full of color, courage, and connection. Whether you painted a canvas, shared a story, volunteered your time, performed on stage, or simply showed up with your full self—you helped make this vision a reality.

Special thanks to our artists, performers, vendors, collaborators, Harvester Arts, and our incredible LGBTQIA+ community in Wichita. You brought your magic, and it showed.

This project was made possible through the support of the City of Wichita’s Division of Arts and Cultural Services and the National Endowment for the Arts. But its heart? That came from you.

The DOLL has risen,

From sewing, makeup artistry, acrobatic choreography, an advanced perspective, to releasing music… LeStar Yamaya has done it all for the past 4 years. She brings captivation, endless smiles and gag worthy stunts to leave audiences gasping for air!

Yamaya is the MOMENT, yamaya is the future!
She currently holds two titles “Miss Gay Wichita Newcomer” and she’s also a recent former Miss Wichita Pride with ambitions and goals to reach your TV screen!
Yamaya is part of the Daughter of Former Miss Kansas Pride Reign Regalia , and is a member of the House of DeMornay bringing a modern and fashion forward touch to both houses of legendary entertainers!

LeStar Yamaya is the queen for all the people, and a queen for every being!
She’s also transparent on her journey as a black trans woman, adding an element from her experiences to her overall presentation to audiences and to the world!

Hunter Gromala

Hunter is a Wichita local and q***r musician that performs fun pop music, emotional ballads, and songs from their childhood in honor of their inner child who always dreamed of being a musician. They strive to put on an exciting, colorful show in their signature hyper femme pop and funk sound. You may have seen them perform in many different venues and events in the last few years including the Wichita Sky Kings halftime show, the Sedgwick County Fair, Dodge City Pride, headlining the first Kansas State Pride celebration last year, and many more! Hunter’s goal this next year is to connect with as many audiences as possible, put out new music for everyone to enjoy, and inspire people to go after their dreams and continue to create in this tough world. You can find them on all social media and streaming platforms. Your favorite non-binary pop star- Hunter Gromala!
